Exhibition “European Funding and Saxon Ideas – We are researching for the Future!” At the Ministry of Science in Dresden

From 5th of December 2017 to 2nd of February 2018, the Saxon State Ministry of Science and the Arts (Dresden, Germany) will be showing a poster exhibition that will provide insights into the different focuses of state-of-the-art Saxon research. The exhibition is open from Monday to Friday from 8 am to 6 pm. Admission is free.

The poster exhibition in the Ministry presents a selection of Saxon research projects that have been successful in competing for funding from the European Union. Scientists from 25 universities, colleges, research institutions and centers from all over Saxony participate. The thematic spectrum of the approximately 30 exhibition panels ranges from the study of brain processes and the production of explosion-resistant luggage containers to the investigation of socio-political disturbances and the promotion of deep-sea minerals to novel measuring methods in nanotechnology and the use of a new vaccine against the Nile virus. Dendromass4Europe (D4EU) has been chosen to be one of the presented excellent research projects. D4EU aims at establishing sustainable, Short-Rotation Coppice (SRC)-based regional cropping systems for agricultural dendromass on marginal land that feed into bio-based value chains and create additional job opportunities in rural areas. This project receives funding from the Bio Based Industries Joint Undertaking under the European Union’s Horizon 2020 research and innovation programme under grant agreement No 745874.
